Will Connor & i met the first time in Paris during "Black Mass Rising" a three days event organized by Colin Johnco and Shazzula when we shared two events on April 3rd 2010 at "Gallerie du Passage Choiseul" and April 5th, 2010 in a pub called "Pixi". Will Connor was invited to play with his trio called "Vultures" and i remember when i arrive at the Gallerie, Will was setting the merchandising for Vultures and i was directly attract to the stand to upgrade my music collection and i bought a micro-cassette compilation edited by the american artist Hal mcGee with who i used to collaborate.
At that time, i was organizing some radio session in my little apartment and the trio Vultures was my guest with an additional musician and my good friend Adrian Beentjes invited for the second part of the radio show. I kept in mind this session for a long time and even today, years after, i remember the mess it was at home when i saw Vultures, the trio with Will Connor, Anthony Donovan, Matt Chilton plus additional musician Daniel Beattie) arriving with all his back-line on the 6 floor of a parisian building with no lift! There misunderstanding between us; as i told by email about "radio session" and "A Maïzing Studio" they thought about a real music studio and they did not worry about the storage and space. It was also by consequences the only radio session i was unable to play with my guests because my main mixer was so small to host all the 6 musicians live!
Since this time we always stayed in touch with Will and i visited him in England each year.
Will Connor in also the musician who introduced me in the London Improvisers Orchestra close to Steve Beresford, Terry Day, Adam Bohman among others Legends of Improvised Music in UK and i Played in London Improvisers Orchestra in 2012 at St Margaret Church in London with also my good friend and partner in a duo Benedict Taylor. Will also introduced me the same close to John Russell who give the opportunity to play at Mopomoso.
The last but not the least, Will Connor invited me in 2014 to play Father Dagon (H.P. Lovecraft), a play in multi-rooms directed by Victoria Snaith where i met fabulous comedians and also a good friend Raxil4. A few time after that, i discovered in fact i was the replacement for Charlie Collins who did the previous shows… And after the "Hugh Davies Project Residency" i met Charlie Collins whither i play in duo now. And the circle is complete !
The tracks "Duff", "Nagara", "Tonbak" are titled with the name of the percussion hand made by Will Connor in a traditional way. "Tin Can" is obviously an home made instrument played during this session.
The title comes from an inside-secret message found in a chinese biscuit at Will and Victoria's home and the complete sentence was "Four days from today will be your lucky day".

"I really, really like this recording. It so reminds me of AMM, and the thoughtful uses of sound and silence, particularly towards the end of the CD, when I began to be increasingly drawn towards the soundscape that you create. In fact I have just re-programmed it, to listen again, which is something I don't often do."
